I will not link a torrent here for various reasons, so you're out of luck if you can't find a safe one on your own or can't afford the game at the moment. I would wait for the Steam version to go on sale ($49.99 as a base price for a game from 2011 that was re-released in 2016 is just laughable and should not be supported), or just pirate it.

Specific reasoning for most of my mod choices may be found on the SSE Mod FAQ page. While I don't mind getting suggestions on things to add, I won't pay much attention to being offered 'alternatives' that I have thoroughly researched, tested, and found to be much worse than what I use. Of course, many of these mods have been chosen according to my personal tastes (most notably with mods that change a lot of the game's visuals to match Oblivion's and my obnoxious love of two-handed weapons and crossbows). We will be enhancing gameplay, difficulty, graphics, quests, immersion, stability, and much, much more - all while maintaining lore-friendliness and keeping content integration as seamless as possible.īefore you go any further, know that I have selected all of my mods very meticulously.

If you're completely new to this game (or even the TES series in general) I recommend starting completely vanilla with no mods at all, other than perhaps a few essentials like the Unofficial Patches if you're feeling adventurous enough to install them, and after playing through the game to your satisfaction (you don't have to 100% it, I would just finish the main quest and all the guild questlines) you can then follow the guide if you wish.Īs with every other game guide on my site, know that this is a comprehensive modding guide, meaning that we will address nearly every category of content with as many mods as necessary, while minimizing hiccups and conflicts. Please note that while this is definitely a guide that can be used by anyone, including modding beginners, you may be spoiled on most aspects of the game if you've never played it before, but this guide assumes that you have. In my opinion, the greatest thing about SSE that makes it worth modding the game all over again for is its superior 64-bit stability as well as the introduction of a new mod file format to all-but-eliminate the relatively low cap on the number of mods the game can tolerate, but more on that later. Now that it's been several years since SSE has released (this guide was started and completed from January to May of 2021 and SSE was released in 2016), 99% of all the good mods and tools from Oldrim have been ported over with some of them remade and updated to work better than ever, and we can use some new fancy SSE-exclusive mods too! This means that my old Skyrim guide is officially discontinued, because we can now mod ourselves an even better game here. Welcome to my SSE modding guide - I hope you enjoy it!
